FNB eBucks rewards changes – All the details

From 1 July 2017, FNB will change the way eBucks members are rewarded.

This is to “ensure you continue to enjoy the full benefits of your rewards programme”, said FNB.

The update to the eBucks rewards system included a breakdown of the “before and after” implications for clients.

Its new reward rates are summarised below.

FNB Easy Accounts

From 1 July, you will no longer get rewarded with money in your Linked Savings Pocket if you have an FNB Easy PAYU account.

To receive eBucks benefits, you must have an FNB Easy Account on the bundled pricing option.


FNB Gold Accounts

If you’re an FNB Encore Gold customer, you’ll be able to qualify to earn eBucks by:

  1. Having sufficient deposits over three months into your FNB Encore Gold Cheque Account.
  2. Maintaining a minimum balance in an FNB Cash Investment Account throughout the month.

You must log into any of FNB’s electronic banking channels at least once a month using your own banking profile.

FNB Gold Account holders can now earn up to 15% back in eBucks on qualifying monthly FNB Connect spend.

There will be seven reward level groups. For each requirement you meet from a different group, you will move up a reward level.


FNB Premier Accounts

FNB Premier Account holders qualify to earn eBucks by having sufficient deposits over three months into their cheque account.

FNB Premier Select clients will also be able to qualify by having a minimum monthly balance in their FNB savings and investment account.

New ways of collecting reward level points include:

  • Having Bank Your Change activated on your cheque account or Fusion account.
  • Having a Funeral Policy or an Accidental Death Cover Policy with FNB.
  • Spending R200 or more per month on your FNB Connect SIM card.

Other changes include:

  • Collecting reward level points by spending R1,500 or more on your credit card, or R250 on online or international shopping per month.
  • Earning up to 15% back in eBucks on qualifying monthly FNB Connect spend.
  • You will no longer earn eBucks on prepaid electricity bought via FNB.

FNB Private Clients

FNB Private clients qualify to earn eBucks by having sufficient deposits over three months into their cheque account.

New ways of collecting reward level points include:

  • Having a Fusion Private Clients account.
  • Having a Funeral Policy or an Accidental Death Cover Policy with FNB.
  • Spending R200 or more per month on your FNB Connect SIM card.
 Other changes include:
  • Collecting reward level points by spending R3,500 on your credit card per month.
  • To reach reward level 2, you now need to collect 9,000 points.
  • To reach reward levels 4 and 5, you’ll need to have:
    • A credit card and cheque account, or
    • A credit card and a single facility, or
    • A Fusion Private Clients Account.
  • Earning up to 15% back in eBucks on qualifying monthly FNB Connect spend.
  • You will no longer earn eBucks on prepaid electricity bought via FNB.

FNB Private Wealth

New ways of collecting reward level points:

  • Having a Funeral Policy or an Accidental Death Cover Policy with FNB
  • Spending R200 or more per month on your FNB Connect SIM card.
  • Having an FNB Fusion Private Wealth Account.

Other changes include:

  • Collecting reward level points by spending R7,500 or more on your credit card per month.
  • To reach reward level 2, you now need to collect 9,000 points.
  • Earning up to 15% back in eBucks on qualifying monthly FNB Connect spend.
  • You will no longer earn eBucks on prepaid electricity bought via FNB.
  • Once the spend limits on shopping earn categories are reached, a flat reward rate of 0.5% will apply to the spend on your credit card and Fusion card.

RMB Private Bank

New ways of collecting reward level points:

  • Having a Funeral Policy or an Accidental Death Cover Policy with FNB
  • Spending R200 or more per month on your FNB Connect SIM card.
  • Having an RMB Private Bank Fusion Account.
Other changes include:
  • Collecting reward level points by spending R7,500 or more on your credit card per month.
  • To reach reward level 2, you now need to collect 9,000 points.
  • Earning up to 15% back in eBucks on qualifying monthly FNB Connect spend.
  • You will no longer earn eBucks on prepaid electricity bought via FNB.
  • Once the spend limits on shopping earn categories are reached, a flat reward rate of 0.5% will apply to the spend on your credit card and Fusion Card.
