Nedbank credit cards rejected by Paypal, Amazon
Numerous Nedbank customers have been left without the ability to pay for online goods and services after Amazon.com and Paypal started rejected the bank’s credit cards.
The problem started towards the end of last week, and according to the Nedbank helpdesk Amazon and Paypal are rejecting transactions from Nedbank credit cards because of an issue with CVV authentication.
The Nedbank agent said that their technical team is working hard to resolve the issue, but no deadline could be provided as to when the problem will be resolved.
One Nedbank client said that the bank has been aware of the problem since last week. The client added that the bank’s silence, on the details behind this problem, is of concern.
Another client said on HelloPeter that Google payments may also be affected. “Having been told by Nedbank that only Amazon and PayPal were affected, I bought an article through Google, and my purchase has been declined,” he said.
Nedbank was asked for feedback about the problem, but the company did not respond by the time of publication.
