Takealot reveals Black Friday 2023 plans — including deliveries “within minutes”

Takealot has detailed its plans for Black Friday 2023, with up to 50% discounts on thousands of products.
South Africa’s biggest online store will again be running its Blue Dot Sale during the period, which includes Black Friday weekend, Cyber Monday, and Takealot Tuesday.
The five-day sale will kick off at 00:01 on Friday, 24 November 2023 and end on Tuesday, 28 November 2023. Deals will change daily.
Shoppers can also score early deals with Blue Dot Sale Early Access offers from 19 to 23 November 2023.
Takealot said shoppers can again expect “massive” savings of up to 50% on TVs, kitchen appliances, large appliances, beauty, sport, toys and bulk household essentials.
Although Black Friday began in the United States as a way for retailers to clear stock ahead of the Christmas shopping season, it has become a global phenomenon.
Takealot was one of the first in the country to partake in the annual event when it debuted the Blue Dot Sale in 2016.
The retailer said the sale has consistently broken its own records year after year. During recent events, it shipped an order every second during the sale.
“The upcoming 2023 edition promises to continue this trend and exceed expectations once again,” Takealot said.

One of this year’s new features is the ability to order some Blue Dot Sale deals through TakealotNOW, an on-demand delivery service available on the Mr D app.
Takealot said deals available through this feature are curated based on what South Africans “need and want most” in the shortest possible time, allowing shoppers to snap up Black Friday deals and have them delivered to their door within minutes.
“TakealotNOW Blue Dot Sale deals will be released at 22:00 on Thursday, just before Black Friday,” Takealot stated.
“These first-time-ever deals are at Takealot’s Black Friday prices and stock is limited, so act quickly to get your Blue Dot Sale deals delivered to your door in minutes.”
Takealot will also offer its 24-hour live shopping experience for the second time.
“Since launching live shopping in South Africa, this has become a regular highlight for social media fans across the country,” Takealot said.
