MTN reveals Black Friday deals
MTN South Africa has launched its Black Friday deals for 2023, with discounts on mobile and home Internet packages, prepaid devices, and contracts.
The operator’s Black Friday offers will be available from 17 November to 4 December 2023.
MTN South Africa chief consumer officer Ernst Forternel said the offers “truly embody the innovation” addressing MTN customers’ evolving needs and budgets.
All the Black Friday offers come with a free Disney+ Mobile or standard Disney+ subscription.
Prepaid customers can buy a Samsung Galaxy A24 LTE for R3,999, saving R1,000 on its regular price.
This offer includes three months of Disney+ Mobile, worth R150, and a once-off 5GB anytime data bundle valid for 14 days.
Another prepaid deal is the Hisense H221M LTE MiFi router selling for R199, a 50% discount off its usual price of R399.
This device comes with 10GB of anytime data, a 10GB work-from-home bundle valid for 30 days, and a 3-month Disney+ Mobile subscription.
Those willing to sign up for a contract can get a SIM-only plan with 200GB of monthly anytime data for R299 per month over 18 months.
They can also add a pocket router for R20 per month extra.
In addition, the MTN Mega Gigs SIM-only plan — with 10GB anytime data and 500 all-net minutes is available at the same price and contract length.
MTN’s 24-month smartphone contract deals will be offering savings of up to R12,960. These include the following:
- Samsung Galaxy A34 5G + Mega Gigs XS plan — R299 per month
- 2x Honor X6a smartphones — R379 per month
- Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus + Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 + MyMTN Sky Bronze— R1,299 per month
Contract offers over the Black Friday period include a six-month Disney+ Mobile subscription worth R295. This is also available to those who upgrade their contracts.

Lastly, MTN will be offering six months of the standard Disney+ subscription, worth R800, on its MyMTN Home Internet 10Mbps uncapped package.
Its MyMTN Home Internet 10Mbps uncapped service is R249 per month. This package has a 100GB per month fair usage policy (FUP), after which speeds are throttled to 2Mbps.
Those who take up the faster 35Mbps package will get an entire year of the standard Disney+ subscription worth R1,600 for free as long as they pay the R499 month-to-month subscription.
This package comes with a 500GB per month FUP after which speeds are lowered to 10Mbps.
