Best Amazon Black Friday deals that ship to South Africa

Amazon is offering numerous Black Friday deals on a wide range of tech products shipping to South Africa, with some discounted over 50%.
The world’s biggest online store started its promotions for this year’s Black Friday on 17 November. It will continue to offer substantial savings through Cyber Monday on 27 November.
Although the e-commerce giant is only launching its local marketplace in South Africa in 2024, it already ships many of its products to the country from its main US marketplace.
While these might take a week or several to arrive, Amazon uses reputed shipping and courier services that help ensure orders end up in the hands of their intended customers.
The company’s policies are also strongly customer-oriented, which means that it often quickly refunds people in the case of mishaps.
Another major advantage of shopping with Amazon.com is its shipping and taxes calculator.
Amazon is so confident in this system that it foots the bill if it undercalculates these amounts. If it overestimates the taxes and duties, it refunds the customer.
That means you won’t get any surprise bills from Sars when the product is clearing customs.

Among some of Amazon’s best deals for Black Friday 2023 is 70% off Amazon Ring and Echo devices and bundles and 50% off Fire TV Sticks, Fire tablets, and Blink smart security devices.
Unfortunately, these items do not ship directly to South Africa and require a package-forwarding service like MyUS or Aramex Global Shopper.
However, there are numerous other products — including laptops, PC components and peripherals, smartphones, smartwatches, drones, and audio gadgets — that you can buy without first getting a US postal address.
Noteworthy among this selection are Google’s Pixel smartphones, which are not officially available in South Africa.
We also found storage products like SSDs selling well below South African retail prices.
The two categories of products we recommend South African shoppers avoid on Amazon until its local marketplace launches are TVs and monitors.
While these can have significant percentage-based discounts, TVs and monitors come with expensive import duties, which completely eradicate the benefit of the savings.
For example, the MSI G27i1CP 27-inch curved gaming monitor with 165Hz refresh rate is priced at $124.99 (R2,298), but its import and shipping fees cost $187.82 (R3,452).
While we would recommend you browse the store for yourself to hunt for the best bargains, we compiled a list of 20 great deals on tech products that ship directly to South Africa.
We focused on products with substantially lower prices on Amazon.com than their typical prices in South Africa rather than only looking at percentage-based discounts.
The converted prices below include all shipping and taxes but not the foreign transaction fee that some South African banks levy on payments made to international platforms. This fee typically ranges between 2% and 2.75% of the purchase price.
