Vodacom launches Black Friday deals

Vodacom has announced its Black Friday deals for 2024, through which it claims customers can get up to 70% off SIM-only deals, fibre packages, prepaid and postpaid offers, and devices.

This year, Black Friday falls on 29 November, and Vodacom plans to advertise its deals weekly throughout the month. The first phase of its promotion runs from 7 until 28 November 2024.

It also plans to offer a “Black Friday Clearance Sale” from 29 November until 4 December.

“Customers are encouraged to keep checking in-store and online for additional offers to come,” said Vodacom.

The mobile operator highlighted several notable deals in a statement released on Thursday, 7 November. One deal includes adding a 65-inch or 75-inch Samsung TV when customers purchase qualifying home connectivity plans.

One of the qualifying plans is Vodacom’s 2TB Home Internet package at R479 per month over three years. The connection provides speeds of up to 100Mbps.

“Vodacom Fibre is available from as little as R99 per month for the first six months, giving customers much-needed relief during the festive period,” Vodacom added.

Shoppers looking for SIM-only products can get various discounts on deals, including:

  • SIM-only 400GB (200GB anytime data plus 200GB night-owl data) — R349 x 24
  • SIM-only RED VIP 200GB (100GB anytime data, 100GB night-owl data, and unlimited minutes — R1,299 x 24

Vodacom said customers who sign up for the SIM-only RED VIP 200GB package will save R12,000 over the course of their contract.

The mobile operator also offers deals on its NXL LVL price plan, aimed at South Africans under 25, where subscribers can get 60 on-net minutes and 1GB of TikTok data for one day for R11.

NXT LVL subscribers can also get a 1.5GB LVL Up Music bundle, which lasts one day for R20.

“The first 1,000 NXT LVL customers who purchase the 1.5GB LVL Up Music Bundle will get a R50 KFC voucher,” Vodacom adds.

Vodacom South Africa’s consumer business director, Rishaad Tayob, said the company relaunched a month-long Black Friday promotion to provide value as consumers face challenging economic conditions.

“Our goal is to provide great value and to make connectivity products more accessible so that everyone can enjoy the benefits that the Black Friday season has to offer,” said Tayob.

“As we celebrate three decades of connecting people, our commitment is to continue connecting more people over the next 30 years, and to ensure we take them further together, leaving no one behind.”
