Best Takealot early Black Friday tech deals

Takealot’s early Black Friday deals include a wide range of tech, with discounts going well over 50%.

South Africa’s top online store is running its Countdown Sale in the lead-up to the Blue Dot Sale, its iteration of Black Friday.

Takealot has extensive experience with the annual shopping promotion, being the first local retailer to introduce it to the country in 2012.

At that point, Black Friday was still primarily a US event.

The actual Blue Dot Sale will be running from 29 November 2024, following on the heels of the Blue Dot Earl Access sale starting on 23 November 2024.

However, the retailer has told MyBroadband that devices discounted during its Blue Dot Countdown Sale — which kicked off on 1 November — will not be available at better prices during Black Friday.

That means that if a particular product you have your sights on is currently available in the sale, that will be the best price you can expect on Takealot.

MyBroadband scoured the Countdown Sale catalogue and used the historic price tracking tool Servaltracker.com to see what items were available at their best prices yet.

We found TVs, smartphones, monitors, computer peripherals and internal components, headphones, speakers, and printers selling for excellent prices.

One of the most affordable tech products currently on sale is a wired gaming mouse from Reddragon going for R249.

The budget brand has established a reputation for offering good value for money with its well-priced gaming peripherals.

It also had keyboards, microphones, and speakers discounted for the sale.

In addition, there were several deeply discounted products from Samsung, including an entry-level computer monitor priced at R999.

It also had several TVs and SSDs selling at their lowest prices yet, such as a 65-inch QLED model priced at R10,999.

Other prominent brands that had numerous products available included Apple, Garmin, Hisense, Huawei, and Xiaomi.

We were also particularly intrigued by a range of Toshiba 4K gaming TVs with high refresh rates, ideal for the latest generation of gaming consoles, with prices starting from R7,999 for a 55-inch model.

The Takealot Blue Dot Countdown Sale will run until 23 November 2024, although it should be noted that some of the best-discounted items we found were already in limited stock.

Shoppers who want additional deals can take up a TakealotMore subscription to access exclusive offerings.

The subscription is free to try out for a month.
