PlayStation announces Black Friday deals for South Africa

South African PlayStation partner Gamefinity has announced Black Friday deals on consoles, games, and accessories, which will run from 29 November until 8 December 2024 at participating retailers.

The company says shoppers can benefit from a special promotion on PlayStation 5 consoles that will see buyers spend up to R2,000 less than the recommended retail price.

“Players and gift givers will be able to explore a range of offers on PlayStation games, accessories, and hardware,” it said.

Additional Gamefinity Black Friday offers include:

• Up to R700 off Pulse Explore wireless earbuds
• Up to R500 off the Pulse Elite wireless headset
• Up to R400 off DualSense wireless controllers
• Up to R800 off popular PlayStation 5 titles like Rachet and Clank: Rift Apart, Returnal, and Sackboy: A Big Adventure

Gamefinity said shoppers could also score discounts when joining PlayStation Plus or upgrading their membership.

This is Gamefinity’s second phase of Black Friday deals. They go live on the day of the sales event — Friday, 29 November 2024.

These deals will be available from Gamefinity retail partners, which include BT Games, Checkers, Computer Mania, FNB, Game, Hi-Fi Corp, Hirsch’s, Incredible, Expert Stores, KooDoo, Makro, New World, and Takealot.

The PlayStation partner also recently announced pre-order dates and pricing for the recently released PlayStation 5 Pro console and the local launch of the PlayStation 5 Digital 40th Anniversary Edition.

PlayStation 5 Pro console pre-orders went live on 1 November 2024, with shipping set to commence on 13 December. The console has a price tag of R19,499 in South Africa.

Gamefinity also revealed pre-order pricing for the PlayStation 5 Digital 30th Anniversary Edition and accessories.

Pre-orders went live on 25 October 2024, and the products will ship from 27 November.

“Reminiscent of the very first PlayStation console to launch on 3 December 1994, this limited edition offering utilises the original PlayStation colour design and integrates it into the latest line of PS5 hardware products,” said Gamefinity.

Its design features colour elements from the original PlayStation console, including its multi-coloured emblem.
