Fibre-to-the-home prices in South Africa

mtn fibre

MTN recently released its latest fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) prices, with access speeds ranging between 20Mbps and 100Mbps.

MTN is currently promoting its new fibre-based broadband offerings in an attempt to gain support from communities to roll out FTTH in their suburbs.

MTN is competing against other companies which are also operating FTTH networks, including Vumatel and Smart Village.

FTTH providers currently operate in high-density urban areas, such as high-end gated communities, boomed-off suburbs, and high-rise buildings.

Competition to provide fibre-based access in these areas is starting to heat up, and with Telkom’s 100Mbps FTTH products expected to arrive soon the fight for market share will intensify.

Pricing is one of the primary considerations for consumers when selecting a broadband service, and FTTH products are no different.

Here is how MTN’s new FTTH prices compare with other fibre-based broadband products in the market.
