MWEB fibre-to-the-home prices announced

MWEB has announced its fibre-to-the-home prices for Parkhurst, which start at R399 per month for an uncapped 4Mbps service.

The first homes in Parkhurst received access to a Gigabit per second (Gbps) Vumatel fibre connection on 28 October 2014.

Since then the number of connected homes in Parkhurst grew to 240, and a further 250 homes will be able to use the service by 5 December.

Numerous service providers are already offering fibre-to-the-home products in the area, including Vox Telecom, Web Africa, Cybersmart, Cool Ideas, and SmartVillage.

MWEB is the latest ISP to offer FTTH services over the Vumatel Parkhurst fibre network.

MWEB’s launch packages, with access speeds ranging between 4Mbps and 1Gbps, are currently available for a trial period to test usage needs.

MWEB is currently partnering with Vumatel on uncapped Internet provision, but will start offering capped options from January 2015.

MWEB plans to roll out FTTH products to other areas as well, and will make an announcement regarding this in the near future.
