The website shows that the average download speed in South Africa is 7.9Mbps, while the average upload speed is 4Mbps.
Despite an increase in the average broadband speed in recent years, South Africa still lags behind global standards.
The average global download speed is 24.3Mbps, while the average upload speed is 11.2Mbps. This is much higher than local speeds, as shown in the table below.
