Free bandwidth for iBurst subscribers

Broadband provider iBurst has pledged its support for the Nelson Mandela campaign by offering its iBurst Wireless subscriber a total of 466.64MB of bandwidth at no cost on Sunday 18 July 2010.

“This day is a call to action for people to do something to make the world a better place, one small step at a time. Internet connectivity continues to be a massive hurdle for us as a nation to compete globally and while iBurst cannot single handedly solve this for South Africa we can take the one small step  which is to provide some free bandwidth to our customers,” says iBurst CEO, Thami Mtshali.

“Our hope is that our subscribers will use this bandwidth to make their own contribution. Mandela Day is about many small actions that together will make a big difference and if there is one thing the Internet is good for, it’s combining the weight of many single voices to create change,” says Mtshali.

The company pointed out that this offer is for iBurst Wireless customers only and excludes subscribers on the Prepaid platform.
