Telkom integrated ADSL-mobile data wallet – the details

Telkom has revealed its plans for the integrated data wallet that was displayed on its new website in August 2015.
A statement from managing director of Telkom Mobile and Consumer Attila Vitai suggests the integrated data wallet will not be available to all of Telkom Internet’s subscribers.
“This summer we will be leveraging our powerful fixed-mobile convergence capabilities to ensure that customers awaiting installations and certain customers in high fault zones are able to access their monthly fixed data allocation to connect to the Internet using the on-net Telkom Mobile network,” said Vitai.
He said Telkom’s Integrated Data service will target certain customers and will require a Telkom Internet SIM card with specific configuration settings.
This will enable alternative access for subscribers, along with the ability to set up modems and other devices to use Telkom’s mobile network for fail over.
Previously, the Telkom Internet DSL usage tracker showed SoftCap subscribers they had access to a service that would let them use their ADSL data cap on 3G.
“If you have a Telkom Internet 3G/LTE SIM card, you can use your xDSL/FTTH data for both mobility and failover,” the site said at the time.
“The mobility data usage will be deducted from your SoftCap/Integrated Data Wallet Quota – for every 1 byte of mobile data used, 1 byte will be deducted from your wallet.”
