Best and worst fibre providers in South Africa

Fibre

MyBroadband’s Q2 2017 broadband survey results show that fibre subscribers are generally much happier with their service than those on DSL or wireless connections.

The Q2 2017 broadband survey was completed by 4,071 South African broadband subscribers. These users were typically IT professionals and tech-savvy individuals.

The users rated the value for money, network quality, and billing and support of their service.

The top-rated fixed broadband service was SEACOM fibre, followed by Frogfoot fibre, and Cybersmart LightSpeed fibre.

Fibre services dominated the rankings – but there was one exception.

MTN’s Smart Village fibre service was ranked as the worst broadband service, placing it lower than ADSL, VDSL, and LTE connections.

The table below provides an overview of the results (scores out of 10). Services which did not receive enough responses in the survey are not listed.
