MyBroadband’s Q2 2018 speed test results show that Randburg is the South African suburb with the highest average broadband speeds.
The results are based on 714,608 speed tests performed on MyBroadband’s speed test platform.
MyBroadband’s speed test servers are hosted in Teraco’s vendor-neutral data centres to ensure a neutral testing environment.
The speed tests include fixed-line, wireless, and mobile connections from ISPs, which means the results are representative of multiple technologies.
According to the Q2 2018 statistics, the average download speed in Randburg was 32Mbps, which edged out Weltevredenpark and Florida, with an average speed of 30Mbps.
The table below provides an overview of the average download speeds and upload speeds of the top suburbs in the country.
Only suburbs with a minimum of 1,000 speed tests in Q2 2018 were considered for the comparison.
