Vodacom launched their new Broadband Standard contract data bundles on 1 August, providing better value for money to new customers and bringing savings of up to 43% to existing customers.
Vodacom’s contract subscribers now also benefit from Night Owl bandwidth which provide ‘double their data’ to be used between 00:00 and 05:00 daily.
Vodacom is further set to cut their top-up and prepaid data rates in the coming weeks. Details about these price cuts are still under wraps, but it is expected to be similar to Vodacom’s Broadband Standard contract pricing.
Unbeknown to many of Vodacom’s iPhone and other smartphone subscribers is that the company has also doubled the data allowance on their iPhone and Smart Talk packages from 1 August 2011.
In future iPhone 120, 240 and 500 and Smart Talk 120, 240 and 500 subscribers will get 500MB of data instead of the previous 250 MB while iPhone Everyday Off-Peak subscribers will get 250MB of data instead of the usual 100MB.
Vodacom also reduced the out-of-bundle price on all of these packages from R1.50 per MB to R1.00 per MB.
