2012 Vodacom broadband numbers revealed
Vodacom has grown its South African mobile data user base to 12.2 million (up 35.4% year-on-year) on the back of an increased demand for mobile data and aggressively priced broadband promotions.
Over the last twelve months Vodacom grew its broadband subscriber base (active data customers who purchase data bundles) from 2.6 million to 4.2 million.
Vodacom further grew the number of active smartphones on its network to 5.1 million, an increase of 55.4% year-on-year.
Vodacom increased its mobile data revenue to R7.639 billion, up from the previous financial years’ R6.433 billion.
