Vodacom data price cut promotion continues
Vodacom has extended its MyGig 1 and MyGig 2 data contract promotion, which offers 1GB for R99 and 2GB for R149, to 31 July 2012. Vodacom initially said that this promotion, which was launched on 07 February 2012, would expire on 6 May 2012.
This announcement from Vodacom follows an announcement by MTN a few days ago where it said that its 2GB for R149 data special will continue to run until 31 July 2012.
MTN’s R149 per month 2GB price plan is a 24 month contract that is bundled with MTN F@stLink modems, Sh@reLink routers, laptops and tablets.
Cell C may be behind the decision by Vodacom and MTN to extend their data promotions. On 14 May Cell C unveiled its latest mobile broadband promotion, shaving 50% off some of their most popular data products.
Cell C’s data promotion is set to run until 31 July, which makes the decisions from Vodacom and MTN to extend their promotions to this date seem like a reaction to Cell C’s promotion.
8ta announced on 11 May 2012 that it has extending their 10GIG, 3GIG and 120GIG data promotions until the end of March 2013.
