Free Facebook and Twitter for SA flights
WirelessG and Mango have launched their “Fly Social” campaign, providing free Facebook and Twitter access through G-Connect’s in-flight Wi-Fi service. G-Connect will also discount all on-board Wi-Fi access by 50% during the month of August.
WirelessG and Mango launched the G-Connect in-flight Wi-Fi service in May 2012, providing Internet access to local air travellers.
According to WirelessG, the take up of the service is encouraging and is exceeding international standards.
“The first week of August signals the final stretch of the G-Connect In-Flight Wi-Fi beta period. Five out of the Mango airline’s six aircraft are now enabled with the service, with the sixth scheduled to come online at the end of September,” said WirelessG CEO Carel van der Merwe.
Specials in August
In August G-Connect will offer a standard one way pass – which expires within 3 hours from activation – for R25 (instead of the usual R50). The company has also cut the price of its one day pass from R90 to R50 per day.
WirelessG have also launched 2 new in-flight Wi-Fi products. The company’s 1 Week Pass – which expires within 7 days after first activation – will be offered for R90.
The G-Connect 1 month super Wi-Fi Travellers pass – a voucher that expires within 30 days from first activation or after 300 minutes of usage – is priced at R250.
The 1 month super Wi-Fi Travellers pass offers access to Wi-Fi in the skies as well as access to more than 1,800 Wi-Fi hotspots on the ground.
