iBurst launches Wi-Fi offering
iBurst has partnered with Wireless G to bring their subscribers a local and international Wi-Fi access solution. iBurst subscribers will be able to get Internet access via any of WirelessG’s 650 local Wi-Fi hotspots while overseas travelers can get connected via 110 000 hotspots worldwide.
According to Alan Knott-Craig, iBurst MD, “Realising that every job is not office-bound we decided to extend this service to customers looking to check their mail on the move without having to pull out their credit cards or carry around their modems.”
iBurst said that this service is aimed at simplicity and that data can be managed easily and reliably. There is also no additional contract or subscription required to access the service. “In particular, users will find the flat rate for international roaming appealing as it means no surprise bills when returning home. It also means you can access information wherever you go and stay in touch with loved ones while traveling,” added Mr Knott-Craig.
Pricing is fixed at R0.68 per megabyte locally and R1.50 per minute internationally. To make use of the service, iBurst customers are required to purchase vouchers available in R50, R100 and R200 denominations.
Vouchers expire after 12 months if not utilised or until the full value of the voucher has been depleted. All customers will receive their first 10 MB of data free of charge during April.
