Telkom 20Mbps and 40Mbps VDSL network details

Telkom VDSL

Telkom released its annual results for the year ended 31 March 2013 today (14 June 2013), revealing that there were 73,400 ports connected to its MSAN network.

The company also reported that it had 83 remote MSANs installed in the access network by 31 March 2013, and that there were 7 MSANs installed in its exchanges.

Telkom’s MSAN network is behind the company’s newly launched 20Mbps and 40Mbps high speed broadband services.

Telkom launched its new 20Mbps and 40Mbps high speed broadband services in March 2013.

At launch, VDSL was only available to a few areas: Benmore Gardens, Fourways and Waterkloof in Gauteng, Durban North in KwaZulu-Natal and Durbanville in the Western Cape could get the service.

Since then, Telkom has significantly grown its VDSL footprint, and it can therefore be assumed that the figures reported in its financial results are far higher by now.
