Top rated fixed broadband service in SA

MyBroadband conducted its latest broadband survey in June 2013, which showed that the Neotel’s NeoBroadband fibre and WiMax services received the highest overall ratings in the fixed broadband category.

The survey was successfully completed by 4,329 South African broadband users, who rated their broadband connection on aspects such as cost, reliability, performance, support, billing and overall satisfaction.

This broadband survey tested users’ satisfaction with and perception of their broadband service, rather than the actual performance of the service.

This was the first MyBroadband survey which used a token system where only invited broadband users were allowed to complete the survey. This eliminated multiple responses from one person and ensured more accurate results.

Initial ratings show that Neotel’s NeoBroadband fibre services received the highest average satisfaction rating (7.95/10), followed by Neotel’s WiMax service with a score of 7.65.

The following table provides an overview of the results of the broadband survey. It should be noted that Telkom’s 20Mbps and 40Mbps VDSL products are not listed below because there were not enough responses to accurately rate these services.
