Vodacom announced the launch of a new data promotion from 1 June 2009 to 31 August 2009 where all of its contract, top up and prepaid customers will get a free monthly data allowance.
“Customers who buy or subscribe to a Data Bundle during the promotional period will receive an additional free data allocation with each bundle purchased or subscribed to. The additional free data allocated will be the greater of 25MB or 10% of the Data Bundle purchased or subscribed to,” Vodacom said.
The minimum of 25 MB free data means that current MyMeg 5 MB subscribers will get an extra 25 MB per month, giving them a total of 30 MB of data for the next three months. Users subscribing to a 2 GB bundle will get an additional 205 MB of data for the next three months.
“You now have a little extra data to send/receive emails, go onto Facebook, and access the Internet more frequently – from your cellphone, PC or MAC. If you can’t use it faster than we’re adding it, there’s no need to hurry – you can carry over any additional free data that is unused for up to 60 days,” the Vodacom website states.
Vodacom pointed out that all of its data subscribers will benefit from the promotion without the need to pro-actively apply for the promotion.
