MWEB mobile data prices revealed
MWEB released its mobile data prices today, which start at R79 per month for 2GB of data on a month to month basis for existing Mweb customers.
This follows an announcement this week by MWEB that it signed an Access Point Name (APN) agreement with Cell C which will enable it to offer its own customised mobile data packages (see MWEB to offer own mobile data products).
“We are continuing to see positive growth within the mobile data market verses fixed-line market growth over the last few years,” said MWEB ISP CEO Derek Hershaw.
“The inter-network agreement with Cell C allows us to create our own 3G products and bundles according to our customer’s needs,” he said.
MWEB said that its customers will now benefit from first line support, competitive pricing, month-to-month contracts, and no SIM card and connection fees.
MWEB’s customers will access MWEB data, powered through Cell C network towers, by making use of a Cell C dongle and SIM card.

“We have positioned our launch offers as the ‘Real Deal’ because we are bringing consumers great deals with no SIM or connection fees and a choice of month-to month or 12 month contract,” said Carolyn Holgate, GM of MWEB Connect.
Customers can sign up for one of many MWEB launch deals including 2GBs of data at R89 per month on a 12 month contract.
“To celebrate our launch the first 1,000 customers to sign-up for this deal will also receive a free modem dongle,” said Holgate.
MWEB is also bringing an exclusive launch offer to existing MWEB customers that sign up for 2GB of data for R79 per month on a month-to-month basis.
