MTN Frontrow

MTN launched its streaming video service called FrontRow on 29 December 2014, offering subscribers a wide range of TV series and movies.

MTN FrontRow subscribers can stream the content via a web browser, or use an Android app. MTN said that an iOS app is in the pipeline.

MTN FrontRow is a streaming service only, which means that no movie or TV series downloads are allowed.

“MTN FrontRow allows access through five devices but only one concurrent stream,” MTN explained.

The service is priced at R199 per month, which offers subscribers access to limited free content in the MTN FrontRow catalogue.

Subscribers can also rent new movies from R15 a film on MTN FrontRow Premiere. Some of the latest releases include How to Train Your Dragon 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy.

MTN is currently offering a launch special at R179 a month for an “all you can watch” service, or R399 a month with 10GB of streaming data.

The promotional rates will apply for three months, after which it reverts to the standard rate of R199 a month for access without a data bundle and R499 for the option that includes the 10GB data bundle.
