DStv Lite for R99; new channels

On Digital Media’s TopTV services will officially hit the market tomorrow morning, offering subscribers pay-TV services priced between R99 per month and R249 per month.

MultiChoice is however planning to spoil ODM’s party by launching their own sub-R100 DStv bouquet today. 

The company announced their DStv Lite service, priced at R99 per month, only one day before TopTV hits the shelves. DStv Lite comprises of 25 video channels, 32 radio and 10 DMX music channels. 

This new service compliments MultiChoice’s existing DStv Premium bouquet for R529.00 per month, DStv Compact at R232 per month, DStv Select at R148 per month and DStv EasyView at R20 per month.

Enhanced offerings

In a press statement today MultiChoice said that it will provide its customers with more value and choice by adding DStv Lite as well as several new channels.

Existing bouquets will be improved as follows:

1. DStv Select 1 will get 8 additional video channels, to have a total of 34 video channels, 32 radio and 10 DMX music channels.
2. DStv Select 2 will get 6 additional video channels, to have a total of 32 video channels, 32 radio and 10 DMX music channels.
3. DStv Compact will get 4 additional video channels, to have a total of 44 video channels, 32 radio and 10 DMX music channels.

The new improvements will come into effect on 30 April 2010 at 12:00 midday.
