MyBroadband launches DStv competitor [April Fools]

MyBroadband has partnered with international content providers to launch MyBroadband TV – a digital satellite TV service which competes directly against DStv and StarSat’s pay-TV services.

MyBroadband TV offers over 100 channels at only R99 per month. For an additional R49 per month, MyBroadband TV users will also get full access to Netflix, Hulu Plus, HBO Now, and Amazon Prime.

The new MyBroadband TV service uses the same satellite dish and decoder technology as DStv. This means existing DStv subscribers can easily move to the new MyBroadband TV service.

To switch to MyBroadband TV, existing DStv subscribers can simply purchase a MyBroadband Smartcard and put it in their DStv decoder.

There is also the option to purchase the new MyBroadband TV Explorer decoder, with an embedded smartcard, for R599.

The new MyBroadband TV Explorer decoder has full Internet connectivity to support its online content products.
