New cheaper HD PVR: How does it compare?
MultiChoice launched a more affordable High Definition PVR (HD PVR) decoder for its DStv service. The new decoder, called HD PVR 2P, is available at a launch price of R1999. This decoder compliments the standard DStv HD PVRs which currently retail for R2999.
This begs the question how the new HD PVR, which is manufactured by Altech UEC, stacks up against the SD PVR and the standard PACE/UEC HD PVRs. The following table provides an overview of features on the three different PVRs which are used on the DStv platform.
