New DStv service centres: where they are, what they do
MultiChoice recently started promoting its new DStv service centre in Centurion to subscribers in the area via SMS and online advertisements.
The service centre was launched towards the end of 2014 and brings the total number of DStv Service Centres in South Africa to five.
In addition to the centre in Centurion, MultiChoice also operates DStv Service Centres in Randburg (c/o Oak and Grove in Ferndale), Cape Town (N1 City), Umhlanga (Umhlanga Rocks), and Durban Central (Sky Towers).
MultiChoice said each centre offers customers the same services:
- Buy decoders
- Test devices
- Swap faulty devices
- Activate services
- Reconnect packages
- Pay for subscriptions
- Address billing queries
- Use the electronic payment kiosk
MultiChoice said the service centres will also address any request for information customers have, including providing contact information for MultiChoice-accredited installers.
“We also have 115 third-party agencies which offer similar services, except that most of them don’t accept cash payments – they accept credit or debit card payments,” said MultiChoice.
It said its third-party agencies form part of the MultiChoice Accredited Installer network.
Asked about the future expansion plans for its Service Centre footprint, MultiChoice said that its focus is to offer Service Centres and agencies where its customers are based.
“To that end, we regularly analyse our customer footprint and plan our service points accordingly.”
