TV series on ShowMax for SA revealed

ShowMax, the Netflix competitor from Naspers, will launch in South Africa with a variety of the latest seasons of popular international TV shows.

The streaming service’s content is listed in the ShowMax app for smartphones which is available in the Apple App Store, ahead of Nasper’s official unveiling of the service on 19 August.

ShowMax will cost R99 per month for its premium tier, with a free tier and free 7-day trial set to be offered once it launches.

Up to five different devices can be linked to a ShowMax account, and ShowMax Premium will let you stream from two devices simultaneously.

Content will be delivered via adaptive streaming in resolutions up to 720p high definition.
