TopTV launches R299 special

On Digital Media (ODM) launched its TopTV pay-TV offerings in May this year with channel bouquet prices ranging between R99 and R249 per month.

The company sold their first 50,000 decoders shortly after launch, but since then the uptake has slowed down.  In August the company announced that it had sold 120 000 decoders and was in the process of adding new channels.  It further emerged that the company surpassed the 200,000 subscriber mark this month.

MultiChoice was quick to react to TopTV’s more affordable pay-TV offering by launching their own DStv Lite service priced at R99 per month, as well as introducing a ‘dish, decoder & installation’ bundle for R649 per month.

Top TV has now slashed the price of its once-off ‘dish, decoder & installation’ cost from the ‘launch special’ price of R499 to R299.

According to the company’s promotional material this offer is valid until 15 October and is available at most retail outlets like Game, Makro, Pick n Pay, DionWired and Hi-Fi Corporation.
