Netflix has released its earning’s report for Q2 2016, which shows that the company missed its projected subscriber growth targets.
Netflix added 1.54 million subscribers over the period, short of the 2.5 million new customers it projected.
The company reported $1.97 billion in revenue and net income of $41 million.
Netflix said its weak subscriber growth was due to existing customers leaving the streaming service.
Netflix gained 13 million new subscribers in 2014, and 17 million in 2015 – with total subscriber numbers at the end of Q2 2016 sitting at just over 83 million.
