The SABC will appeal the Labour Court order that it must reinstate four journalists it dismissed.
The Labour Court in Johannesburg ruled that the dismissals of Foeta Krige, Suna Venter, Krivani Pillay, and Jacques Steenkamp were unlawful and that they be reinstated.
It also ruled they were entitled to return to work, following representations by trade union Solidarity.
Solidarity has now received a lawyer’s letter indicating that the SABC intends to appeal the matter.
Solidarity’s Dirk Hermann tweeted a copy of the letter, and said the union will file urgent court papers in response.
