MultiChoice’s DStv channels suffered major downtime on Friday evening due to a fibre cable cut near its Randburg offices.

MultiChoice told Channel24 that M-Net, Mzansi Magic, and SuperSport channels were affected by the cable cut, which was caused by construction work.

The report stated that all channels were restored by Saturday morning.

DStv viewers described the downtime as a “nightmare”, with M-Net Movies Premiere and VUZU among the channels going offline.

MultiChoice apologised to its subscribers and thanked them for their patience.
