The SABC did not need to advertise the position of group executive of corporate affairs before giving the job to former COO Hlaudi Motsoeneng, said Communications Minister Faith Muthambi.
As reported by Fin24, Muthambi made the comment in reply to a parliamentary question posed by the DA.
She said the group executive job was was reserved for Motsoeneng and that he was “reinstated to the position he had occupied prior to his appointment as COO”.
Motsoeneng was removed from his position as COO after the Supreme Court of Appeal set aside his appointment. This followed an investigation into Motsoeneng by the Public Protector.
Bessie Tungwana, who was previously head of corporate affairs, was appointed as acting COO.
