DStv decoder update
MultiChoice recently announced the release of updated maintenance software for both the 1110 and 1131 UEC single view decoders.
This software will be released to all 1110 and 1131 decoders across both the IS7 and W7 platforms.
The release will be done in stages, with 200,000 decoders updated yesterday morning and the rest receiving their updates on Tuesday, 15 March 2011.
According to MultiChoice this software is a maintenance release and does not include any new features. No user intervention is required and customers will not need to be guided through the process. In most cases, customers will be unaware of the change.
MultiChoice provided the following steps for checking that the latest software is installed on your decoder.
- From any video channel, press MENU to go to the Decoder Menu.
- Select Information Central.
- Check the “L number” on line 2.
- L18 is the updated software for the 1110 decoder.
- L7 is the updated software for the 1131 decoder.
The software will only be available for manual download from 15 March 2011. If you don’t have the latest software version, MultiChoice said that you will be able to download it as follows:
- From any video channel, press MENU to go to the Decoder Menu.
- Select Advanced Options.
- Select DSD Upgrade and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Please do not interrupt the download and wait for normal video & audio to resume. The download should take approximately 30 minutes.
