ShowMax gets Android TV support

The new version of ShowMax’s Android app expands support to include media players and smart TVs running Android TV.

“This is the fifth major expansion since we launched ShowMax. It means that anyone with a compatible Android media player or smart TV running Android software can access ShowMax,” said the company.

ShowMax is now available on a range of smart TVs, mobile devices, and media players.

The main additions to the new ShowMax Android app that enable TV usage are:

• Android TV user interface optimised for large-screen layout.
• Support added for remote control input.
• Support for higher-resolution video.

To run ShowMax, Android devices must be running Android 4.1.0 (Jelly Bean) or higher.
