Roku is removing channels from its platform reported to be infringing on copyright, displaying an FBI warning, reported TorrentFreak.
“FBI Anti-Piracy Warning: Unauthorized copying is punishable under federal law. Roku has removed this unauthorised service due to repeated claims of copyright infringement,” states the warning.
This follows a recent warning from Roku to users that it may remove channels.
“We want to send a clear message to Roku customers and publishers that any publication of pirated content on our platform is a violation of law,” Roku told TorrentFreak.
Roku said it has also expanded the messaging it displays to clients who install uncertified channels, alerting them to the risks.
