Star Wars: The Clone Wars to return on Disney’s streaming service

Comic-Con supervising director Dave Filoni has announced that Star Wars: The Clone Wars will return for a new season.

Speaking at San Diego Comic-Con, Filoni said the new season of the show would be available on Disney’s direct-to-consumer streaming service.

The season will feature 12 new episodes and will include the same cast of characters as the previous seasons.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars first aired in 2008 and ran for five seasons, along with several “Lost Missions” episodes – which aired later on Netflix.

The series follows the adventures of popular Star Wars characters such as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker during the Clone Wars period.

There is currently no official release date for the new season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
