Warner Bros. has confirmed to Variety that it will produce the fourth instalment in The Matrix franchise.
Lana Wachowski will write and direct the fourth film, which will see Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss reprising their roles as Neo and Trinity respectively.
“We could not be more excited to be re-entering ‘The Matrix’ with Lana,” said Warner Bros. Pictures chairman Roby Emmerich.
“Lana is a true visionary — a singular and original creative filmmaker — and we are thrilled that she is writing, directing and producing this new chapter in ‘The Matrix’ universe.”
The film could reportedly begin production in 2020, although there is no information available yet regarding plot or script details.
