DStv BoxOffice Online gets more movies
DStv’s online movie rental service, BoxOffice Online, has been changed in a number of ways since it left beta late last year (2012), MultiChoice recently told MyBroadband.
BoxOffice Online has been out of beta since November 2012, but MultiChoice recently issued a press statement to announce the “official launch” of the service.
The service is available to anyone, not only DStv subscribers, and lets users rent movies and watch them online, or download and watch them through the DStv BoxOffice desktop player.
According to MultiChoice, they have introduced “a load of additional functionality and a number of cosmetic changes” that makes finding, renting and paying for movies more flexible:
- Flexible payment methods that now include “voucher” as a payment option. Vouchers will be made available during promotions and campaigns that are planned for the near future
- Existing DStv subscribers who pay their DStv subscriptions and BoxOffice Accounts with debit order will now be able to add online rentals to their BoxOffice Account too. The BoxOffice Account can now also be used by anyone as a “wallet” for BoxOffice Online rentals, which can be topped up as and when is required.
- A “favourites” feature was introduced to give users the ability to build up a playlist of movies that they would like to watch.
- The size of the New Release and Classic catalogues was increased and is currently sitting at around 62 movies.
