Internet Solutions has launched CloudWAN – its first virtual wide area network product for next-generation enterprise networking.
CloudWAN was developed in partnership with the NTT Innovation Institute Inc. (NTT i³) at its parent company, NTT.
It will let Internet Solutions’ clients link their public and private clouds to a virtual network using software-defined networking (SDN) technology and network function virtualisation.
“Enterprises usually invest in private network services based on MPLS, which has been an industry standard for decades,” said Greg Montjoie, head of SDN and Internet at IS.
“As multitudes of devices in numerous sites are added to an enterprise WAN, existing network technologies are increasingly restrictive, prohibitively expensive, and can no longer guarantee quick and reliable network connections.”
IS CEO Saki Missaikos said that with the launch of CloudWAN, they hope to provide greater visibility, easier expansion, and simplicity in deploying and managing networks.
The service will give their clients flexibility, scalability, security, and simple network management, said Missaikos.
