Vodacom appoints new chairman

Vodacom has stated that its chairman Peter Moyo is stepping down and will be replaced by Jabu Moleketi.

Moleketi was a non-executive director, and will take on the role from 19 July.

“Mr Moleketi was first appointed to the board of Vodacom in November 2009. He will also take over as chairman of the Nomination Committee and step down from the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee,” said Vodacom.

Vodacom also announced that Sakumzi Macozoma has been appointed as lead independent director of the company, with effect from 19 July.
