Cell C to sell Huawei devices

Cell C will soon stock Huawei devices once again, the network has told MyBroadband.

“After months of negotiations, we have reached an agreement with Huawei and will soon be stocking Huawei devices again,” said Cell C.

Cell C removed Huawei devices – including smartphones and routers – from its website and stores in May.

Huawei and Cell C declined to comment on the move at the time, but Blue Label joint-CEO Brett Levy recently said the matter was part of the normal course of negotiations with a supplier.

Massmart and iStore

The Huawei matter follows Cell C ending a distribution deal with Massmart earlier this year, following the termination of its trading agreement in August 2016.

iStore and Cell C also recently confirmed to MyBroadband that iStore will no longer offer new Cell C iPhone contracts and upgrades from 1 September.

Cell C said the move away from iStore stems from its focus to “offer customers the best possible experience through dedicated Cell C distribution channels”.

“It is of the utmost importance that Cell C is able to provide customers with an exceptional service at every touch point, including our distribution points,” said Cell C.
