MTN has appointed Ebenezer Asante as vice president of the Southern & East Africa and Ghana region.
The role became vacant after Godfrey Motsa was appointed CEO of MTN South Africa.
With Asante’s appointment, the SEA region has been expanded to include Ghana.
“The inclusion of Ghana within SEA rebalances the workload across MTN Group’s regional structures, further optimising the oversight responsibilities of the regional vice presidents,” said MTN.
The SEAGHA region will comprise MTN’s mobile operations in Ghana, Uganda, Rwanda, Zambia, South Sudan, Botswana, and Swaziland. It also includes MTN ISPs in Kenya, Namibia, and Botswana.
Asante is currently the CEO of MTN Ghana, a position he has held since July 2015.
