Vox Telecom for sale
Vox Telecom has sent out information to numerous companies, local and international, which may be interested in putting in a bid to acquire the telecoms operator.
It is understood that the proposed acquisition will be for 100% of Vox Telecom. The company’s main shareholders are Investec, Lereko Metier Capital, and RMB.
Vox Telecom is one of the only remaining large telecoms operators and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in South Africa which has not been acquired by a larger operator.
The company was established in 1998, and currently offers voice, data, and collaboration services to the Southern African market.
Vox Telecom competes in both the business and consumer sectors and has primary offices in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, Cape Town, and Port Elizabeth as well as in Windhoek, Namibia.
Vox Telecom CEO Jacques Du Toit said that the company’s management team supports the initiative of the shareholders to go to the market to find a potential new owner for the company.
He said that it is the right time to approach the market as there is currently strong consolidation in the South African telecommunications environment.
Du Toit added that Vox Telecom continues to show strong growth, and that this initiative may further support dynamic growth for the company going forward.
