Former Telkom CEO joins Woolies board

Listed retailer Woolworths has announced that Nombulelo (Pinky) Moholi and Hubert Brody have been appointed as independent non-executive directors of the company.

It noted that Moholi has more than 24 years’ experience in the ICT industry, most recently in the position as Group CEO for Telkom, having been appointed in 2011 and stepping down in March 2013.

“She serves as a non-executive director for Anglo American Platinum Limited, Old Mutual Emerging Markets and is the Chairperson of Nedbank Limited‘s Eyethu Community Trust.

Moholi joined Telkom in 1994 as GM of Payphones, and left the group in 2005 to join Nedbank, where she served as group executive of strategy, marketing and corporate affairs.

Moholi returned to Telkom in 2009 as MD of the Telkom SA business unit.

She also worked for GEC and Siemens (South Africa) and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Cape Town and has attended the Strategic Executive Programme at Stanford Business School and the Strategic Marketing Management Programme at Harvard Business School.

Brody is a Chartered Accountant by profession, and previously held the position of CEO of Imperial Holdings.
