Best online shops in South Africa
MyBroadband recently published an article on the best and worst online shops in South Africa, based on the opinions of the journalist and some colleagues.
Some commentators asked for a more comprehensive survey, which included more online shops and a higher number of online shoppers.
MyBroadband obliged, and launched a survey which asked its community to share their views on South Africa’s prominent online shops.
The survey asked people which online shops they use regularly, and to rate the following aspects of each shop: website, ordering process and payment; products and pricing; customer service and support; and delivery.
The survey was completed by 1,198 people. While this is a significant sample, it should be noted that the respondents were mainly males working in the IT and business fields.
The most popular online shops
The most popular online shop among IT and business professionals was Takealot, followed by Kalahari, then Groupon.

The best and worst shops
The best online shop according to the survey is Yuppiechef, followed by Takealot, then Wootware.
