Top innovators in South Africa

The Innocentrix Innovation League Awards took place on 19 February 2015, with Vodacom and Willie Oosthuysen winning the main awards.

The awards are based on the innovation league survey, which determined to what extent local companies are “applying leading edge thinking to the topic of collaborative innovation”.

The survey measured 4 areas of innovation: Leadership and Ambition; Organisation and Collaboration; People and Culture; and Implementation and Measurement.

Innocentrix Innovation League Awards company winners were:

  1. Vodacom
  2. SA Legal Aid
  3. Eskom
  4. Altron
  5. Business Connexion

The event also honoured individuals who made a significant contribution to innovation in their organisation.

“Behind every successful innovation programme stands an innovation champion to make innovation happen in their organisations,” said Henra Mayer, CEO of Innocentrix.

The 2015 Innolive Corporate Entrepreneur of the year awards went to:

  1. Willie Oosthuysen – executive for strategy and development at Altron
  2. Jannie van Zyl – executive head of innovation at Vodacom
  3. Zukiswa Ncunyana – strategic executive director City of Tshwane
