Acting Sentech CEO announced

The Minister of Communications General Siphiwe Nyanda today announces the appointment of the following members to the board of directors of state signal distributor SENTECH as non-executive directors:

  1. Mr Quraysh Patel – Chairperson
  2. Mr Mesuli Dhlamini
  3. Ms Zanele Hlatshwayo
  4. Mr Thabo Leeuw

Their appointments were confirmed by the cabinet meeting that sat on 24 March 2010, for a period of three (3) years with effect from 1 April 2010.

“I’m confident that your tenure on the board of Sentech will contribute towards the strengthening and growth of the organization and take it to greater heights. Your respective backgrounds and expertise will put you in good stead to build an entity that inspires hope and confidence amongst its peers and more importantly the staff at Sentech,” said Nyanda.

Nyanda also appointed Ms Beverly Ngwenya as acting Chief Executive Officer of SENTECH with effect from 1 April 2010.

Ngwenya is the current Chief Operations Officer at SENTECH and has held the position for the past three years.

This follows the departure of Ms Sebiletso Mokone-Matabane who has been at the helm of the organization since 2003.
